Rendered upon a weathered square of natural Italian stone, this piece captures the foundational mythos of the Eternal City. Centered on the iconic Lupa Capitolina, the image depicts the revered she-wolf suckling the twin infants Romulus and Remus—abandoned along the Tiber River and nurtured by divine intervention before going on to establish Rome.

Flanked by the historic inscriptions Lupa Capitolina Romolo e Remo and the solemn civic insignia S.P.Q.R. (Senatus Populusque Romanus), the artwork bridges sacred myth and sovereign statehood. At the base, an imperial aquila vignette crowns the unabbreviated civic motto, echoing the architectural friezes and dedicatory plaques that define the Roman Forum. The natural fissures, organic veining, and hand-chiseled margins of the stone substrate serve as an intentional tactile dialogue with Roman antiquity, evoking the enduring resilience of the civilization the myth brought into being.
