"Calendar - Harvest" by Marcelino Pomataylla transforms traditional Peruvian weaving techniques into a dynamic three-dimensional exploration of agricultural rhythms. The tapestry cascades in concentric arcs of golden threads and rich earth tones, its geometric patterns and stylized motifs telling the story of harvest cycles while creating a remarkable illusion of depth and movement through innovative textile manipulation.

About Calendar - Harvest by Marcelino Pomataylla

This 2010 tapestry measures approximately 48 by 60 inches, created in the Lake Titicaca region of Peru. The artist's masterful manipulation of threads creates a sculptural effect that flows beyond the traditional flat surface, particularly striking when illuminated. The composition combines ancestral harvest symbols with contemporary design, using warm colors and traditional patterns from the Puno region to create both a functional calendar and a celebration of Peruvian agricultural heritage.
