Razzia (Gerard Courbouleix)

Gérard Courbouleix–Dénériaz, known professionally as Razzia, is a French graphic artist born in Montparnasse in 1950. Distinguished as one of the last true poster artists in an era dominated by digital design, Razzia creates all his work from original paintings rather than computer graphics, preserving the traditional techniques of the golden age of poster art. His distinctive Art Deco-inspired style has earned him prestigious collaborations, most notably with Louis Vuitton, for whom he has created works since 1985. Beginning his career as a photographer in the music industry, Courbouleix-Deneriaz transitioned to graphic art in 1979 when he created his first graphic from a photo shoot. His impressive client list includes the 1984 French Open, Stetson Hats, Lancia Automobiles, Bloomingdale's, Harrods, and numerous luxury brands. Working between Paris and the south of France, Razzia's posters are highly sought after by collectors worldwide, including celebrities like Elton John and Michael Caine.
