Maggie Genova Cordovi, a contemporary Cuban artist specializing in mixed media works, was born in Cuba and relocated to Miami at age 11. Despite an early passion for art, she initially pursued architecture in college before training with Cuban landscape artist Felix Ramos. In 1996, Cordovi decisively returned to her artistic passion, later training under Cuban abstract artist Baruj Salinas and contemporary artist Yovani Bauta.
Cordovi's artistic philosophy views painting as an ongoing learning process, creating narrative works that respond directly to her emotions. Her characteristic technique involves applying washes that dissolve onto the painted surface, balancing spontaneity with reason and complexity with clarity in each piece. Cordovi has participated in numerous group exhibitions throughout the United States, establishing herself as a notable voice in contemporary Cuban-American art.
